Broadcast Yourself

Another new folksonomy website that seems to be catching on is YouTube-Upload, tag and share your videos worldwide!, a service similar very much like flickr, but it’s for videos. You can broadcast yourself by capturing your own video clip and upload it in a number of different formats ( .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG ) to share with family and friends. Videos can be of any length, but must be less than 100 mb in total size, your video will automatically converted into a flash format, and therefore upload and playback is extremely fast. The service is completely free!

YouTube
founded in February 2005, YouTube is a consumer media company for people to watch and share original videos worldwide through a Web experience. Founded by early commerce pioneers of PayPal, YouTube allows people to easily upload, tag, and share personal video clips through www.YouTube.com and across the Internet on other sites, blogs and through e-mail, as well as to create their own personal video network. With investment support from Sequoia Capital, YouTube is set to become the Internet’s premier video service.

YouTube is also a sharing network where you can add friends who are also member of the network, and email any video to anyone. It is also provides easy to use copy/paste code for emailing and posting on a website. Videos can be tagged, searched, discussed, etc through a social network, which results in bunching in a very similar way as flickr.

For developer, YouTube also provides an APIs, RSS feeds, and the ability to embed videos directly into other web pages.

However, I hope you will not forget Ourmedia, where it is a community of individuals dedicated to spreading grassroots creativity: videos, audio, photos, text and other works of personal media. A place where you get free disk space and bandwidth for video, music, photos, audio clips and other personal media. … Even if you’ve yet to become a media creator, it can be fun to see what other people are doing. And maybe some people are using for their podcasting, pblogging, vblogging and so on…

So you want to be an Internet star? Ourmedia.org, which hosts your podcast and stores archived, and YouTube, which hosts your videos. Both show for free to the crowd of the world!
