It is time to rock!! The Software Freedom Day– September 15, is today. I think everyone from around the world who has registered to celebrate has already done a great party in their own countries. As Robert has made an alert to everyone before the day:

Software Freedom Day 2007 is almost upon us, and there’s just enough time for us to get in a last “Thank you!” and “Good luck!”.

Here in Cambodia, we also have a fantastic time to celebrate the day during the first ever Cambodian Bloggers Summit. The event was not just about Blogging and Web2.0, social media, but there’s also Free Open Source Softwares which was introduced by one of our big Sponsor, Open Institute. I have noticed that everyone was fasinated with the products that the KhmerOS have produced and translated, like the khmer Unicode, Open Office, Open Suesie, Firefox, Mekala, and many others… you may find it out at Khmeros.info. And what is special at the event about FOSS (Free Open Source Software) is that 100 of Ubuntu CDs has reach me on time, i was called to pick up the package while organizing lunch for everyone on the second day of the Summit — 31 August– thank for SFD team for sending us. I have shared it the participants at the end of the summit, but not everyone have got one because we got over hundred of participants. It was shared to only IT related participants.

Today is also a special day because here in Phnom Penh at a coffee shop– T&C world, where there’s WIFI connection, we organize a small informal meetup with Phnom Penh techies “Free Tech Talk” .. to talk more about tech and FOSS, and here we go i am sitting here at the shop writing this post while waiting for everyone to come.. you’re all kinda late.. come on everyone! Lucky today, Chantra from KhmerOS got a couple of Open Source CDs and Kubuntu to share out!
