Khmer Unicode in Ubuntu

Finally i’ve got the Khmer Unicode working fine on Ubuntu system. This afternoon i’ve visited KhmerOS office and with an assistant from khmerOS team here’s how i’ve got the Khmer Unicode config to make it work in Ubuntu. Actually as i’ve shown in my previous post i’ve got everything required for enabling Khmer Unicode but just it does not work well in Firefox so Soben, one of a khmerOS engineer, have shown me it is solved in the discussion on their website here.
1. Edit a file called environment by adding “MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=0″ (without quotation) to the last line. That file is located in /etc directory. You can achieve this by running following command in Terminal:
sudo vi /etc/environment (You’ll be asked for password.)
Hint for newbie: To be able to edit that file, you have to enter Insert mode by pressing i on your keyboard. To save what you have done, press Esc then type “:x” (without quotation). After hitting Enter, you have done everything.
*** According to a comment from kids_pro, one of KhmerOS fan, it would be more easier to use gedit instead of vi. So instead of sudo vi /etc/environment, you can use sudo gedit /etc/environment. Then you can edit and save the file as you wish.
2. Relogin
Thank guy for helping me out. I enjoy it work in Ubuntu. ![]()
