My cap is arrested, I have to pay the bribe
[This is not my cap, but the color]
So what happen?
I was in rush with my brother driving to the office because it was about time and we were late somehow. The traffics are utterly bad all along the way, everybody seems also in rush to their office and work places, full of noisy sirens, full of polluted air, some have crashed each other, the road was too crowded. Look like the morning is so messy…
About 10 minutes later, we have reach toul kok stop and was waiting for the green light. Suddenly, there was a police man coming to me asking me to get off. I felt was like, ma god! what’s wrong with me? I ask what is wrong? Then he said, there’s something wrong with my cap, because i was wearing a military color cap. He took off my cap and put it into his motor’s basket. I said heh heh it’s my cap! It’s not a military cap, it’s just a green color cap – i like green. I did not know that it’s your stupid military color. He out his pen and paper, singing to me ( told me the story, military law.. sth) but it was stupid because i am not a military, i am just a person who love my green cap. He told me that I’ll be sent to take a military education for some weeks, learning how to clean toilet, bla bla bla… I asked, are you threaten me? Then he pretend like more seriously asking my name, office, work,. bla bla.. but felt like it was a stupid scene i was having.. everybody know that they are the most talent actor asking for the bribe. Finally, the story end with a $5 phone card. lolz… and my cap is token 
I don’t mean to make corruption, but it’s like a culture which ordinary people accept to avoid losing the time and more money to police’s pocket. I have to come to the office, don’t wanna wasting more time. a lot of lessons have learned. Unless there’s a corruption law and improvement of low level police’s living, this culture will still continue and threaten more ordinary people. Polices will become become more and more like a gangster, robber, … nobody like em.
Will it be the corruption boom next year?
The military law to bring youth to take military education, which is the most suck idea for developing country, has threaten to many youths since it will not be like other developed country. It would just an idea to bring police officer more villa, land cruiser, mercedes benz, .. , because nobody would want to join such shit military service in this country. No more war, no more military, we need a peaceful life, peaceful country, peaceful world. Youth can be good by having good education, living in a good society, not by being involve in the military.
Today i am reminded of corruption and military, in my previous post regarding to youths, we are happy living, learning, and working together for development. In the wishing board, nobody want to be involved in the military!
wat a story!!!! lolz.. well there is a corruption law jus passed last year. but i doubt it works!!!

Gosh..just because of a green colored cap? Corruption nowadays is totally getting out of hand…so sad..:-(

The green color is not reason for police to take your cap. that is his excuse to extort money from you. By the way, it is the type of corruption in government institutions. Even taxi did not break law, they take money from almost taxi drivers. that is bad behavior in Cambodian society. If we look at the top officials, how they are corrupt?. the poor is getting worse. In fact, no one want to pay to police without reason, if we don’t do that we will wast a lot of time with them. Oh the poor Khmer, how we live in such corrupt society. When will corruption law be passed? maybe it will not be done forever.

Oh lok tacam, thank for the comments. Actually, I was talking too much with them about it, if it was a regular fine like we’re doing wrong with the traffic.. but he said there’s no regular fine of this, he was told to ban all people who use the military equipments…I didnt know this. and I didnt know that my cap was a military, he said so, but i thought not. If i knew it was, i wouldn’t buy.
This is not a good lesson to learn from me, I was just not want to wast the time.. because i need to work. He was asking for a phone card, and i though the story would end after that, so i decided to give him that and i was not too late at work.
Yeah, in our everyday life avoiding paying bribe is almost impossible. there are many type of briberies, some pay bribe the gain differential treatment (advantage) this kind of bribe is easily avoidable. for example: I prefer to wait in the line, but not paying bribe in order to go first.
another bribery is you have to pay it to get out of trouble.. like the incident you told, you’re in a hurry.. they won’t let you go until you pay them.
